Kawazu-zuka (Monument to Frogs in Poetry)
There is a small stone monument behind Tamagawa Nursery School in the Mizunashi are. Among the waka poems that sing of Ide, there are 83 poems that refer to frogs, and since ancient times Ide has been known as a famous spot for frogs, along with Yamabuki(Japanese mountain roses).
In Kamo-no-Chomei(1155-1216)'s Poetry treatise "Mumyosho", it is written that "the Ide frog is about the same size as an ordinary frog, but it is black in color and does not hop around much; it always stays in the water. When night falls, its cry is pure and touches the human heart."
Access: About 350m east from JR Tamamizu Station, about 5 minutes on foot.
