Tamatsuoka-jinja Shrine
Tamatsuka Shrine Located in the Kamiide district, Tamatsuoka Shrine is said to have originated when Shimoteruhime-no-mikoto descended to this land in 540 and was enshrined there.
The sanctuary is built in the Kasuga style architecture that was wildly used in the Edo period(1630-1868) and is a registered cultural property of Kyoto Prefecture, and the shrine forest is a designated cultural property environmental conservation district.
Also, in the grounds there is Tachibana Shrine, which enshrines Tachibana no Moroe(684-757).
Access: About 2.0 km from JR Tamamizu Station, about 30 minutes on foot. Free parking is available.
